All Saints' Day and Halloween in Ferreries

Last Friday (31st October) all the students in our school had "bunyols" (like doughnuts) with sugar or honey for breakfast (at break time). "Bunyols"  is a typical dessert for All Saints' Day.
In English class we sang and danced the "Skeleton dance" and  played at Happy Halloween.

CATALAN TRADITION: PANELLETS

We prepared PANELLETS on Monday, 29th.

They are like small buns made of almonds, sweet potatoes,
sugar & a little bit of egg.

After mixing up all the ingredients, you can decorate them with cherries.

Put them in the oven for a while - Mummies baked them for us-

On the 31st of October we'll eat them with toasted chestnuts.

This is our tradition !!!!

This is the way we prepared them:

Can you smell them from your countries?

First Photo from Ferreries (Balearic Islands)

Hi from Ferreries (Balearic Islands).
This is our first photo.
The picture was taken on  19th October, at 1:45pm. That’s the time we finish our classes and go home to have lunch.
Year 3 classroom is on the first floor.
  • From the window we can see the North playground; the door is still closed, the caretaker opens it 5 minutes before we leave school.
  • Outside the school there is a policeman, he is going to help us to cross the street. A woman and a little boy are waiting  near the front door.
  • At the sides of the stream there are white mulberry trees. Their leaves are still green but they are getting brown and some of them are falling down.
  • Most of the houses in Ferreries are white but some of them are beige...
  • Last Friday was a little bit cloudy.

CATALONIA:AUTUMN POEM

there are two classes and four teachers.
Lessons start at 8.00 a.m. and finish 12.15 p.m.
